There are several kinds of conjunctivitis:

- Red or pink, itchy, eye (s)
- Yellow or green discharge
- Infected eyes may be crusted shut in the morning.
- May affect one or both eyes
- Pink, swollen, watering eye (s) sensitive to light
- May affect one or both eyes
- Itching, redness, and excessive tearing, usually of both eyes
- Red, watery eyes, especially after swimming in chlorinated water.
- Related to a systemic disease like Kawasaki disease
- Practice good hand washing
- Clean object that are commonly touched by hands and face, like tables, doorknobs, telephones,and toys.
- Report a case of conjunctivitis to the teacher or nurse.
