- Croup is a respiratory infection that is usually caused by a parainfluenza virus.
- It ususally occurs in children aged 6 months to 3 years of age, but may also occur in older children.
- Signs and symptoms:
- Low-grade fever
- Late night seal-bark cough
- Hoarse voice
- Prevention:
- Hand washing
- Sneeze or cough into elbow
- Keep your child away from other sick children.
